Scolmore BIM Library

BIM

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is changing how buildings, infrastructure and utilities are planned, designed and built.   Having started life as a three-dimensional modelling system in the 1980s, BIM was originally used by architects and concentrated solely on construction elements.  Today the latest generation of BIM software includes all the components of a building, including MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) services and it provides contractors with the ability to deliver a quality service, reduce waste and minimise inefficiencies.

Since 4 April 2016, all centrally-procured public sector construction projects require the implementation of BIM at Level 2.  As the industry continues to collaborate to implement BIM, Scolmore has been working behind the scenes and has now developed and provided direct access to a newly created BIM library.  The company has also developed Technical Specification Brochures to cover all products across the entire wiring accessories and lighting ranges.  All the information is in downloadable format from the website www.scolmore.com.
