Global leader in sustainable transport solutions, ABB, receives approval from the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) for its new Terra AC Wallbox EV chargers to be eligible for Government sustainable transportation grant schemes.

ABB received confirmation from the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) that its new Terra AC Wallbox EV chargers meet the requirements of the UK’s domestic (EVHS) and workplace (WCS) grant schemes. The aim of these grants is to incentivise the installation of EV chargers in the UK to develop the country’s growing e-mobility infrastructure.

The OLEV scheme allows businesses and households to claim up to £350 from the UK Government towards the cost of an approved charger installation. Households can claim for up to two units if they can demonstrate they already own two electric vehicles. Businesses can also claim up to £350 per installed socket for as many as 40 chargers.

The Terra AC Wallbox is the best-value charger on the market, provides flexibility for future proofing, and meets the highest safety standards. Its compact design means it’s easy to install and use and is available in up to 22kW variants. For more information on ABB’s new Terra AC wallbox visit new.abb.com/ev-charging/terra-ac-wallbox.

Frank Muehlon, Head of ABB’s global business for E-mobility Infrastructure Solutions, says: “This year is expected to be a tipping point in EV adoption, and we at ABB are excited to participate in the build-up of e-mobility infrastructure across the UK. Incentives to encourage the installation of the Terra AC wallbox will help us to bring more efficient EV charging to more users in the UK and contribute towards a greener society.”

To become OLEV approved, installers need to register, having first completed a relevant EV installation course (such as that offered by NICEIC, EAL or City and Guilds), and then register as an ABB-approved installer via the installer registration page.
