Bright Sparks by CKI

06-09-2021

CK

We have been awarded the ‘Business Recognition 2021’ by Leicester college for our Bright Sparks by CKI college scheme that is run by Carl Kammerling International.
We have had the pleasure of providing Leicester College with professional electricians tools since 2003 and are very pleased that the college and students have found great benefit with this fantastic scheme.

Sadly, due to the circumstances of this year the breakfast award ceremony could not go ahead and we were not able to receive the award in person.  However Leicester College has kindly offered to send a breakfast hamper and certificate to our headquarters in Pwllheli, North Wales which we can’t wait to receive.

About the scheme

At Carl Kammerling International we believe in investing in the future. The college sponsorship scheme provides free C.K tools for use in their workshops, ensuring that students and electrical apprentices train using quality hand tools that are ‘designed for professionals’.

Bright Sparks by CKI now provides sixty colleges across the UK and Ireland with a selection of quality C.K tools to use while training, helping to ensure the future development of professionals within the industry, while also promoting the use of safe and high quality hand tools.

Supporting the next generation of tradespeople is high on the agenda at CKI, which, since 2003, has supported over 50,000+ students as part of its Bright Sparks by CKI initiative.

We believe that investing in the future of the trade industry and trades people is the way to ensure that the continued legacy of high quality electricians is kept alive.

1.How has the scheme benefited and supported the students in their education?

Neil: The scheme supports students with industrial standard tools made of high quality materials, which make learning new practical skills easier to achieve and carry out. The awards scheme enables Leicester College to support and sponsor students with tools to support them on site or into employment.

The Product Wise web site supports learners with knowledge and hopefully attain high grades in end exams.

2.     What is it about the scheme that has gained your loyalty for 19 years?

Neil: Product Wise knowledge training and support from CK. Industry standards tools to use in our workshop. The Web site supports CPD for staff and students and provides certificates of achievement for them to use when applying for work.

3.     How do you think this scheme will help aspiring electricians in their career progression?

Neil: Confidence to carry out electrical skills using first class tools, they look professional on site with CK tools and the insulated tools keeping students safe on site.

Refresh of Bright Sparks by CKI

As of this year, we are enhancing the scheme and want to ensure that students are getting the most out of the Bright Sparks by CKI scheme.
We wanted to really focus on the educational aspect this year, to equip students with not only providing hand tools for their practical lessons, but knowledge to support their theory based lessons in the form of educational posters and full access to our revamped Product Wise platform, an educational website that is intended to educate the trades people of tomorrow all about hand tools, arming them with the knowledge they need to be ready for their professional trade career.

Staying connected will be an integral part of the Bright Sparks by CKI scheme. We want to bring together a community of Bright Sparks college’s by giving our ever growing social media audience an insight into how students are progressing in their studies using our C.K tools or any special events that occur such as award ceremonies awarding exceptional students with C.K Tool kits and prizes and certificate for their progression and efforts during their college year.

We will continue to support the future electricians of Leicester College and are thrilled that next year we will be celebrating our 20th year in partnership with them.
