Flexicon’s New Non-Metallic Conduit Fitting Offers Superior System Integrity for Performance and Safety Critical Applications.

Flexicon are delighted to announce the launch of a new non-metallic fitting – FLEXICON ULTRA™ which offers better system integrity than anything currently available on the market. It has been designed with input and feedback from customers working in technically demanding environments.

The company has many years’ experience working within a variety of industries including Machinery & Automation, Transportation & Utilities, providing innovative and reliable cable protection solutions.

Says Tim Creedon, Sales and Marketing Director for Flexicon, “System integrity is essential for the functionality and operation of performance and safety critical applications.

Customers are looking for reliability and simplicity. High performance conduit fittings typically consist of multiple or separate parts which can add complexity during installation. Ingress Protection and Dynamic performance are critical factors and are often a common reason for Cable protection failures. Vibration, constant movement & sudden inertia are also elements which can compromise system performance.

Flexicon Ultra™ is a one piece fitting solution which offers fit and forget assurance when it comes to performance and integrity. It features integrated sealing technology which provides superior Ingress Protection levels of IP68 (2Bar) and IP69, with both fine pitch and coarse pitch Flexicon Conduits. The fitting has been tested for IP68 for up to 72hrs at a depth of 1m. With multiple teeth, positioned around 360°, these fittings offer up to 70kg tensile strength, higher than any other competitive fittings. The teeth design also provide anti vibration and shock protection, tested in accordance with EN 613373 cat2 whilst offering enhanced tamper protection

“Exposure to extreme and diverse hazards is commonplace within many industries, leading to a requirement for technical solutions rather than just the supply of components.  Systems can potentially fail if the cabling is not adequately protected from hazards which might include rain, snow and ice, washdown processes, UV light, thermal cycling and differing temperatures, vibration, impact, abrasion resistance and dynamic pull of strength.”

“Understanding such risks and hazards has enabled us to design and develop market leading products that exceed our customers’ expectations offering reassurance and continuous operability.  We have worked with major manufacturers to extensively test our products to validate the capability of our solutions.”

Flexicon products are independently tested to extremes to offer Customers assurance that our products will perform as expected. We are IRIS accredited for the design, development and manufacture of flexible conduit cable protection systems; for rail applications and have Lloyds Register and UL approved products. The company’s products also meet a number of the latest international rail standards including EN 45545-2 and have product registration certificates issued by London Underground.
