What is LuckinsLive?
LuckinsLive is a powerful tool for engineers, distributors, contractors and estimators in the building services industry. If you need to find product information and prices quickly then you are in the right place.
Please Note: LUCKINSlive is an information site provided for the benefit of the UK building services industry. Amtech Group do not stock or sell the products listed on this site and we regret we are unable to respond to any requests for quotes for the products listed. Please use the contact information provided for manufacturers to contact them directly for product sales, ordering and quotations.
A unique service
LUCKINSlive is both a comprehensive supplier directory and a source of detailed information about individual products.
No other site can deliver the same amount of products and price data with the same accuracy as LUCKINSlive. We can say this confidently because LUCKINSlive is based on the LUCKINS database, the industry standard for product and pricing data in the UK Electrical and HVAC sectors.
The LUCKINS name is synonymous with accurate, up-to-date information. The TSI Code -the unique identifier for each product in the industry - has become the de facto standard product code for e-business applications.
LUCKINS customers include national, regional and local suppliers, distributors and installers throughout the UK including most of the top names in the industry. 45 out of the top 50 UK M&E contractors are Luckins data users.
This means you can be confident the data on LUCKINSlive is up-to-date and accurate and with over 750,000 products listed, far more comprehensive than any other product database in the industry.
FREE to use
You can search the site for product information absolutely free - you don't even need to log in. You can access the information from any location at any time on any PC. If you have an internet connection you can search for products.
We also offer a regular FREE Price Watch Update. You can register to receive a regular summary of the latest price information and news direct to your inbox. Prices are constantly changing and this free bulletin keeps you up to date.
Access to trade price data
If you would like access to trade prices for the listed products, we offer a range of subscription levels. This means you only pay for what you need, for example, if you are a heating and plumbing company you may not require prices for electrical items. Whatever package you subscribe to, you are still able to view product information on all the other products.
If you already subscribe to Luckins Data
If you are currently a Luckins data subscriber, perhaps you use a software package that uses Luckins data such as Estimation or Luckins' TraSer software, you are automatically eligibe to view relevant prices and receive all the features available to users that subscribe through LUCKINSlive. You will need your Luckins customer number and access code to allow you access. If you have not recieved these please contact us.
How to search for Products
You can find products in LUCKINSlive by using the Product Search panel on the left hand side of each page:-
Search using Catalogue Number
This method is great if you know the catalogue or part number of a product and want to find the item quickly.
Enter the supplier’s catalogue number (or part of it) into the 'Search Catalogue Numbers' box and click the red arrow. (Don’t worry about entering punctuation, hyphens, slashes, etc. Enter them if you wish, but we strip these before running the search).
The “Exact search?” tick box allows you to find products that precisely match the catalogue number you entered, as opposed to the default which checks for a partial match within catalogue numbers (e.g. searching for “2843” exactly shows a single product, but 70 products without exact search).
The Catalogue Number search looks for any matching part number within both the Catalogue No1 and Catalogue No2 product data fields (this is data supplied by manufacturers and is the code generally recognised in the industry for the product):-
Search ALL product data
This is used for general searches where you only know the generic name of a product or are unsure of the catalogue number. You can also search for manufacturers here. Enter part of the product description, manufacturer or brand name or any combination of these.
Note that this wide-ranging search looks through millions of products and many data fields so it can take quite a while, sometimes a minute or more – please be patient!
If your search returns items from more than one manufacturer, LUCKINSlive will display them all for you to make a further selection. Some manufacturers will show a number in brackets after the name:-
This indicates the number of individual items found for the manufacturer which match your search criteria. If there is no number it is because that manufacturer has chosen not to include lists of individual products, perhaps because they are all made to order or bespoke, but you can still view the manufacturer's profile which shows contact details and in some cases is enhanced with their brochures, news and case studies.
Some manufacturers will be highlighted with the (i) icon; this indicates they have provided additional information, e.g. brochures, product images, specification sheets, 360 degree spin images and BIM objects, etc.
If you want to know more about a product it is worth selecting these manufacturers first. Otherwise locate a manufacturer using the alphabetic list at the top of the page. This will take you to that manufacturer’s profile page where you can find their full contact details and which types of products they produce.
Select the manufacturer you are interested in and then choose from the resulting menus of the manufacturer’s product ranges until the items you are looking for are displayed.
Display Product page
If your search request has only one result you will be taken direct to the product page for that item.
If there are many items that meet your criteria you will be taken to a search results page where the results are shown in a list:-
Just click on the required Catalogue Number and you will be taken to the product page.
Added Information symbol
Some products in the list may have a letter i symbol next to the description. This indicates that the manufacturer has provided additional information such as technical specifications which you may download.
This icon indicates the product has a 360 degree spin animated image interface which you can use to view, pan and zoom to get a better understanding of the product.
This icon indicates the product has Building Information Modelling objects. These are found in a new tab in Product pages called BIM Library where building information modelling 3D object data files can be downloaded for import into CAD and BIM software. Popular 3D formats are Revit and Google Sketchup.
Filter your results
If there are many items that meet your search criteria, you can filter the results by clicking on the Show Filter button. A panel will appear containing filter boxes relevant to the kind of products listed:-
Either select a single value by clicking on the blue text in one of the boxes or filter on a combination of values by (un-)checking the tick boxes of the ones you want to include and then click the Apply Filter button.
You can filter by Brand, Product type, Size or Finish, or filter only items where Additional Information is available, or where NES Clauses (building services specification text) is available. Additionally you can refine the results by entering some text to search within the given results. You can also choose how many items to show per page, e.g. 20, 30, 50 or 100.
Search by Category
Select a top level product category from the list in the search panel and the panel will expand to show further sub categories and sub-sub categories, select and click from the list. Follow through the search process as explained above.
Search for A Specific Manufacturer
Select the Manufacturers button from the navigation menu at the top of the page:-
Or use the List Manufacturers button at the bottom of the Product Search panel.
Both methods provide the same list. Follow through the search process as above.
Each item in LUCKINSlive has its own Product Page where you can find further information about the item. Manufacturers also supply added information about products including Images, Brochures, Specification Sheets, etc.
How to view Prices
To view trade prices on LUCKINSlive you need to subscribe to a LUCKINS data package. You may already be a LUCKINS subscriber, e.g. you may have an estimating or job costing software package that uses LUCKINS data or you may be a LUCKINS TraSer user.
If you are currently a LUCKINS data subscriber you will receive an access code which together with your LUCKINS customer number enables you to log onto LUCKINSlive. You will first need to enter these details on the LUCKINSlive registration page where you will also create your own user name and password. If you have not received this please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send it to you.
Why are some prices visible and not others
The prices shown depend on the data package you subscribe to, e.g. if you have subscribed to a mechanical services products only package, you would not see electrical prices. This means you only pay for what you need.
How to hide products that are not showing a price
When you are searching for a product you are shown all the products that meet your search criteria. You may only want to display the products that show prices. On the search results page, click the Show Filter button, check the box called 'Priced Items Only' and then Apply Filter. This will hide all the other products from view making it even easier to locate the product you want.
