Over 100 Smart [PRO] 2.0 devices light up the Olympic swimming pool in Vittel, which aims to host the training of the national teams in view of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Vittel, a town located 200 km west of Strasbourg, famous for its thermal springs, is one of the candidate locations to receive the athletes of the next Paris Olympic Games in 2024. To do this, the municipality is making important interventions of renovation of its sports facilities, including the local Olympic swimming pool, which has recently upgraded its lighting system by installing a series of GEWISS Smart[PRO] 2.0 LED devices.
Christophe Morin, director of the sports division of Vittel, stated that in order to be able to live up to major events, "the sports facilities had to meet the criteria imposed by international standards, in particular those concerning lighting regulations". That’s why the Smart [PRO] 2.0 LED floodlights were chosen, also because they’re equipped with DALI technology, for an even more precise control of the luminous flux. "The goal - said Alexandre Mouginot, business manager of Cegelec Vosges, company that installed the system - it was to replace the old 1000W metal halide luminaires with those offered by GEWISS: 165W LED devices in electrical conduit, equipped with a DALI controller, which also allows us to obtain different levels of lighting".
The intervention involved the application of 102 Smart [PRO] 2.0 floodlights, 52 above the steps and 48 above the main pool. The renovated federal sports center has already been tested by the French national water-polo team, which was able to enjoy the benefits of the new facility just ten days after the completion of the works.
The Smart[PRO] 2.0 Series, designed, developed and manufactured in Italy, represents the ideal solution for applications in sporting facilities or other external areas, such as car parks, green spaces and parks.
The full range offers different sizes that cover equivalent powers of 165W to 970W, with light flows reaching 122,000lm. Every device can be configured to different drive currents, to optimise consumption and increase energy efficiency.
