Training shortage for environmental technologies
21-07-2011
SummitSkills, the skills council for building services engineering, is warning of a lack of training for environmental technology. It suggests this could lead to rogue traders and incorrectly installed equipment.
In its report - Potential Training Demand in Environmental Technologies in Building Services Engineering: Stage 3 Demand and Supply Gap Analysis – the council says that no region or devolved nation in the UK is ready to meet the potential demand for training over the next few years. It also found that a ‘significant minority’ of training providers were unaware of the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).
