Strategy for public sector construction
03-06-2011
Details of the government’s construction strategy in reducing public sector procurement costs have now been released. Key aspirations include establishing a new construction board and aligning construction procurement across the construction programme.
The government is also to publish two-year forward programmes detailing the construction and infrastructure projects that have been selected to receive public funding.
The intention of these moves is to improve relations between the construction industry and the public sector, while, according to Minister for the Cabinet Office Francis Maude, enabling more to be constructed within the funds available.
