Refcom advisory committee

09-08-2010

Refcom (Register of Companies Competent to Handle Refrigerants) has established an advisory committee to oversee the activity of F-gas certification and best practice in handling refrigerants. The committee will supervise both Refcom’s Defra approved mandatory certification scheme and Refcom Elite’s voluntary scheme.

Refcom’s chief executive, Bruce Kirton said: “Setting up the advisory committee will ensure Refcom has the broad industry representation to achieve what the industry wants and needs from a certification scheme.”

Including members of ACRIB (Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Industry Board) and BSRIA, as well as contractors and end users, the committee will advise on aspects of scheme management and audit matters, ratify all certificates issued, keep accreditation requirements under review, and review that the scheme’s structure continues to meet the requirements of the 2009 F-gas Regulations.
