JIB mechanical guidance

The Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) has reached an agreement with the Unite union that introduces mechanical grades into the national working rules for the electrical contracting industry.

The JIB Mechanical Agreement is said to have been introduced to enable employers who are in membership of the Electrical JIB to employ their mechanical workforce under the same terms and conditions as their electrical workforce – should they judge that it is in their interest to do so.

It is not intended as an alternative agreement for mechanical-only employers, as they form no part of the Electrical JIB.
