The first electric bus comes to the streets of Cardiff

Working with Volvo Bus UK and their state-of-the-art 7900E this trial will last for 8 weeks from Cardiff City centre to Cardiff Bay. It will provide a sustainable, environmentally friendly form of public transport, which can operate using opportunity charging on an allocated route.  Head of ABB’s global business charging infrastructure, Frank Muehlon, added: “As the market leader in fast charging solutions we are proud to be partnering with Volvo and Cardiff Council on delivering Wales’ first ever fast charging bus installation.
