BESCA energy scheme

02-08-2010

Since October 2008 sellers and landlords have been required to provide Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for all buildings or parts of buildings when they are sold or rented. Since January 2009 there has also been a requirement for commercial buildings to have a current air conditioning inspection report.

Building Engineering Services Competence Accreditation (BESCA) is now approved to operate an accreditation scheme for energy assessors in relation to the issue of Energy Performance Certificates for commercial and display energy certificates for publicly accessed buildings, and for the mandatory inspection of air conditioning systems.
